Sean's back!

Good news, after a few weeks out of the water Sean has now recovered from his fin slash and is back in the water.
Take care Sean and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Hot, hot, hot..........

Not much in the way of waves of late but there's been some stonking weather. Mucho snorkelling, lonboarding and cruising on the stand up paddleboard. Basically been living at the beach as much as possible. BBQ, beer, paella & sangria. Tough life!

Stolen Board

This was sent to me today so in an effort to help the poor chap get his board back I'm posting it here.
Good luck Louis.

Sean's Fin Slash

To be honest I've been holding off publishing this for a while for a number of reasons. Mainly because I couldn't get the photo off my phone but I also wondered whether it was a bit weird to post it or not and wanted to make sure it was healing properly first etc etc.
Anyway, the time has come to show the world what happened to the poor young fella in a freak surfing accident which saw the bottom of his foot slashed with a longboard fin. This what not the result of carelessness or recklessness but was just one of those unfortunate incidents that happen when we least expect them.
Anyway, the good news is that after 10 days the stitches are now out and he is well on the road to recovery but It'll be a week or two before he's back in the water. Thankfully it hasn't put him off and it's all I can do to keep him out of the sea.
Get well soon Sean, hope to see you back in the line up soon!

Just prior to removal of stitches

Take care out there.

Shane Stedman Boards

We now have a couple of sample Shane Stedman boards. Shane has been shaping boards out of Sydney's northern beaches since the early 60's, having started out in his mum's garage. With over 40 years experience and the feedback provided from his son Luke on the WCT pro tour Shane has what it takes to produce a range of boards for everybody.

Just had a few days on the Emerald Isle sampling the black stuff, surfing with dolphins and oh yeah, delivering boards.
Yep, you read it right, surfing with dolphins. 3-4' and glassy at Inch Reefs and a pod of dolphins showing us how it should be done. It was an incredible experience and one I'll never forget. Sadly, as noted in a post below, I lost my waterproof camera a few weeks ago so couldn't record the event. So you'll have to make do with the Cliffs of Moher and a pub sign. Two icons of Ireland nevertheless.
